Claudia Baron is a senior executive and seasoned investment professional with over two decades of experience at the intersection of private equity, operations, and strategic advisory. As the founder of Claudia Baron Consulting, she partners with private equity firms to unlock value across their portfolios—offering strategic transaction support, targeted relationship-building, and high-impact advisory services to both GPs and portfolio companies.

Previously, Claudia served as Partner and Head of Fund Investments at a Chicago-based asset manager, where she led strategy for a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of private equity and private credit funds. Under her leadership, the platform saw significant performance improvement, a major expansion in co-investment opportunities, and increased advisory board representation. She also successfully negotiated and structured secondary transactions—without intermediaries.

In addition to investing, Claudia brings hands-on operational leadership experience as CEO and CFO of private equity-backed companies across the wine, technology, and media sectors. She has led the successful turnaround and sale of one business and helped drive a strategic three-way merger in another.

 

Her consulting work is grounded in real-world execution, sharp financial acumen, and trusted relationships developed over decades across the GP, LP, and portfolio company ecosystem. Claudia holds an MBA from the University of Illinois and a BA in economics and political science from the University of Michigan.
